Position: Sales Associate

Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Sales Associate to join our liquor store team. The Sales Associate is responsible for providing excellent customer service, processing sales transactions accurately, maintaining a clean and organized store, stocking merchandise, and following all laws and company policies regarding the sale of alcoholic beverages.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide friendly, professional service.
• Assist customers in locating beer, wine, spirits, mixers, and other store products.
• Answer basic product questions and make recommendations when appropriate.
• Operate the cash register and POS system accurately.
• Process cash, credit/debit card, and other approved payment methods.
• Verify customer identification and age before selling alcoholic beverages.
• Follow all state and local alcohol-sale laws and company policies.
• Stock shelves, coolers, displays, and other merchandise areas.
• Receive deliveries and assist with organizing inventory.
• Monitor products for proper pricing, labeling, and condition.
• Maintain a clean and organized sales floor, checkout area, coolers, and storage areas.
• Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned.
• Help prevent theft, product loss, and unauthorized alcohol sales.
• Communicate inventory shortages, customer concerns, and store issues to management.
• Perform other store-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous retail, cashier, convenience store, or liquor store experience is preferred but not required.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team.
• Basic math and cash-handling skills.
• Ability to learn and operate a POS/register system.
• Must meet all applicable legal age requirements for handling or selling alcoholic beverages.
• Ability to properly check identification and follow responsible alcohol-sales procedures.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to bend, reach, and stock merchandise.
• Ability to safely lift and move boxes, cases, and merchandise weighing approximately 25–50 pounds.
